Ke$ha was an artist who had largely existed in the background of the music industry, performing backing vocals for Britney Spears and writing songs for Miley Cyrus, until she was asked to perform chorus duties on Flo Rida's Dead Or Alive sampling single, 'Right Round'. After the huge success of the aforementioned single Ke$ha quickly became the featured artist du jour for not just Flo Rida, but a whole host of R&B artists including Pitbull and British heartthrob Taio Cruz. 'Tik Tok' was the first single where the singer took center stage; using a Lady Gaga / RedOne style backing to power her undeniably hook laden songwriting.
