Shazam's Review

US born producer Ian Carey crashed the charts in late 2009 with this slice of punchy techno, reaching number 9 in the UK and number 2 in Australia. Dissatisfied with the music scene in his homeland he decamped to Europe in 2003, touching down in The Netherlands before moving onto Spain. The change in climate seems to have done him a world of good judging by the evidence of 'Get Shaky', where he manages to create a track that sounds equally at home on the radio or the dancefloor. Beginning with some descending guitar chords over a kick/clap combo the introduction of vocalist Kelly Barnes adds a new dimension, as she invokes the listening public to 'get shaky after school'. The track drops to a killer electro bass riff and powers its way through to the end without pausing. Barnes' lyrics and the well worked guitars combine effectively with the electro-house production to provide a track that retains a slight edginess while still being top forty material. ~Martin Gadgil.
